This morning, Head of State Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The Turkmen leader visited the "heavenly" horses, and then took up literary work.
During his stay here, the President of Turkmenistan was informed of the good news of the birth of the first foal from the legendary horse named Akhan, which he personally sowed. The head of state received this news with enthusiasm.
The birth of a new foal on one of the days of the National Spring Festival has become a symbol of the fact that significant dates in the life of the country are combined with wonderful events.
The head of state tied an aladja foal woven by his mother Ogulabat eje around the neck of the foal, which was a sign of a worthy continuation of national traditions that are exemplary for the whole world and coming from the depths of centuries.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that the birth of this foal in the year of the wide celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence and the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat is an inspiring event. The President of the country named the descendant of Akhan by the name of Ashgabat.
As you know, Akhan from the line of the glorious Gyrsakar was born in 2006. With his incredible agility and beauty, he multiplied the world fame of Akhal-Teke horses.
On horseback Akhan, the head of state took part in a number of festive celebrations. A special role was assigned to the famous Akhan in the celebrations organized on the occasion of the National Day of the Turkmen Horse.
As you know, in 2017 Akhan took part in the opening ceremony of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, the rider, rising on a reared horse, lit the torch of this sports forum.
And in 2018, Akhan, rearing up, was able to cover the distance of 10 meters in 4.19 seconds, thus updating the world record in this nomination. These facts contributed to the increase in the world fame of the Akhal-Teke horses and the international recognition of Akhan's victories.
Then the head of state took a silvery horse named Shapolat out of the stable and took a walk with him.
Over the centuries, the Turkmen seis have improved the breed of Akhal-Teke horses and preserved its unique qualities. The silky mane of Turkmen horses, beautiful exterior, light movements and incredible strength are the visible result of the high level of skill of seis and folk breeders.
At present, the national traditions of horse breeding continue at the modern level. The beauty, intelligence and uniqueness of Akhal-Teke horses conquer horse breeders all over the world.
The President emphasizes the importance of a thorough study of the history of Turkmen horses, the originality of their character, the development and preservation of the ancient principles of seiisation for future generations.
Using the wide opportunities created in the country to preserve the purity of the breed of "paradise" horses and improve the work on their seizing, Turkmen horse breeders carry out effective work in this direction.
Today, the glory of the Akhal-Teke horses overtaking the wind thunders all over the world. Over the centuries, our ancestors, with their hard work and talent, created this world famous breed and preserved its purity.
The joint celebration this year of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse and the Holiday of the Turkmen Alabay, which is annually celebrated on the last Sunday of April on the last Sunday of April, emphasize the high importance of the enduring values given to the world by our ancestors, the great attention paid to them in our country.

The birth of a foal during the days of Novruz celebrations, as well as in the days of preparation for the 140th anniversary of Ashgabat, inspired President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to devote lines to this event in the new richly illustrated book Ashgabat,
