The Foundation was created in response to the strong Bulgarian interest in this ancient yet highly relevant breed. It gathers reliable knowledge and introduces the Akhal-Teke to enthusiasts, specialists and the wider public.
According to its charter, the Foundation promotes public awareness of the Akhal-Teke, supports research into the breed's history and distribution, and works for its responsible presentation in Bulgaria.
A central objective is to encourage exchange between Bulgaria and Turkmenistan and to deepen bilateral relations in horse breeding. This includes supporting the establishment, breeding and wider presence of Akhal-Teke horses in Bulgaria.
The charter also envisages creating suitable conditions and an equestrian base for keeping and breeding the horses, so that knowledge about the breed can be connected with responsible practical work.
To pursue these aims, the Foundation may establish contacts with Turkmen non-governmental organisations, encourage direct cooperation between Bulgarian and Turkmen equestrian clubs, and support joint participation in equestrian competitions.
Its means of action include international events, lectures, exhibitions, book presentations, forums and cultural initiatives that make the breed and its heritage accessible to wider audiences.
As a foundation, the organisation has no membership admission or membership conditions. It develops partnerships and initiatives in support of its mission.
