Today, the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex hosted celebrations on the occasion of the National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse, celebrated on the last Sunday of April.
The Turkmen land has become the "cradle" of the best horses of all times and peoples, the fame of which has spread throughout the world. For many centuries, carrying out a careful selection of young animals, protecting them from cross breeding with other breeds, our seis were able to create a special breed of horses that became the crown of world horse breeding.
From early in the morning, the atmosphere of inspiration reigned at the International Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex. The leaders of the Mejlis and Khalk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh, members of the Government of Turkmenistan, heads of military and law enforcement agencies, ministries and departments, representatives of public organizations and the media, as well as numerous guests gathered here.
Along the road leading to the building of the complex, an exhibition of works of fine and decorative-applied art, photographs praising the incomparable Akhal-Teke horses is deployed.
In a kind of open-air vernissage, the presented museum exhibits reflect the richness and diversity of the national heritage carefully preserved and passed down from generation to generation.
Bakhshi and musicians' performances, national games and sports competitions with the participation of powerful and dexterous palvans are organized near the installed white yurt. Cultural workers prepared their creative gift for the holiday.
Here, the skill of horse riding is demonstrated by the group of national equestrian games "Galkynysh", known for its triumphant victories at world festivals of circus art and prestigious international competitions.
The apogee of the celebration was horse races, without which not a single big Turkmen holiday could do.
In total, seven races at various distances took place today, in each of which the frisky horses demonstrated their best sports qualities.
The stands with spectators literally exploded with a flurry of emotions, as soon as the gong announced the start of the first race at a distance of 1200 meters, in which the horses competed for the Polatla prize of the financial and economic complex.
Gutly's black horse from the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan, driven by jockey B. Kulyev, finished first with a score of 1 minute 19.9 seconds.
The distance of the second race was also 1200 meters. The best among those who competed for the Melegush prize of the oil and gas complex was the dark brown horse Garabatyr, presented at the competition by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Together with master jockey O. Yalkabov, he covered his distance in 1 minute 19.2 seconds.
In the third race at 1200 meters for the prize "Gelshikli" of the shopping complex, the first to the finish line was the Tedzhen bay horse belonging to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The racehorse, driven by jockey S. Charyev, showed a time of 1 minute 19.2 seconds.
The distance of the race for the Yanardag prize of the transport and communication complex was also 1200 meters. A. Orazdurdyev was the first to come to the finish line on the Gyzlarym bay color from the Bakherden horse breeding farm of the oil and gas complex of Turkmenistan. Distance covered in 1 minute 19 seconds.
In the fifth race at a distance of 1400 meters, where the prize "Peren" of the construction and industrial complex was played, the bay horse Kararym, belonging to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan, became the winner. His result - 1 minute 33 seconds, jockey - N. Agamyradov.
The award in the sixth race was the Garader prize of the agro-industrial complex. The first place in this competition was taken by Ulker of chestnut color (Turkmen Agricultural University). The rider B. Berdimuhammedov together with the horse covered the distance of 1400 meters in 1 minute 29, 1 seconds.
In the final, seventh race, there was a tense struggle for the main prize of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov - the Akhan prize and the challenge Cup. The salt horse Bezirgen, belonging to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan, was the first to cross the 1400-meter distance. The horse, driven by master rider B. Agamyradov, showed a time of 1 minute 32.2 seconds.
Song and musical performances were organized between the races. Then the ceremony of awarding the winners of the races took place, who were awarded the above-mentioned prizes, valuable gifts and large sums of money. In addition, the winner of the final race was awarded the Challenge Cup of the President of Turkmenistan and a diploma.
Here, the winners and prize-winners of the previously held equestrian marathon and show jumping competition were announced. The first to finish the 60 km marathon was rider Kh.Toilyev on the bay horse Dorbedev belonging to the Akhal-Teke equestrian complex of the President of Turkmenistan. The winner's time is 2 hours 52 minutes 46 seconds. In the show jumping competition, jockey Y. Garadzhaev took the lead on horse Altynkhan from the National Equestrian Center.
The riders expressed their sincere gratitude to the leader of the nation for their concern for the preservation and improvement of the glorified traditions of the national school of horse breeding and, for their part, assured that they would make every effort to further develop equestrian sports and widely popularize the Akhal-Teke breed throughout the world, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
